Comments by PAUL ONISH and AVI SOLOMON

"Bob, Sunny Ken and Paul Onish moved from Brooklyn, NY in 1946 as their first home. It was the house next door to Rev. Richard P. Mallory, the minister at the First Church of Kew Gardens. Next door to them was an original home that Charlie Chaplin lived in until the early 1040's then the Bokar family moved in. The Sabo's were next to that.

Our backyard faced the Church and every Sunday, religiously at 9:00AM the church bells would chime awakening all and summoning them to church. How could we forget. It took 15 minutes for the bells to silence themselves. The Props and PropJets then Jets from Idlewild now JFK International used the Church as a landmark during the approach to runway 22L, for all those Pilots in the audience.

We all lived there until 1964, (18 years) then moved to the Silver Tower for 5 years then off to New York City. What a great city to grow up in."
[Paul Onish, Jan. 1, 2008]

"When I purchased this house 13 years ago, I was told that the family that founded the Bulova watch company built it in 1911. I was unable to confirm this."
[Avi Solomon, April 30, 2005]
