Kew Forest

This is the corner of Queens Boulevard and 78th Avenue in an area known as "Kew Forest". Kew Forest is a small enclave just off of Union Turnpike centered on Kew Forest Lane. Although technically located in Forest Hills, it was Tract 5 of the original Kew Gardens development, hence its hybrid name. The first structures to go up here were the Colonial Garage (pictured here) and the Kew Forest School (next page). Single family homes and the Kew Forest Apartment Building followed in the 1920's.
