Home of George Wicke

This house stood at 118-30 Metropolitan Avenue on the south side of the street. It belonged to a prominent attorney named George Wicke. Built sometime before 1908, the Wicke house predated the Kew Gardens housing development. It was right across the street from the Richmond Hill Golf & Country Club, and from this vantage point, Wicke would have had an unobstructed view of the second fairway. Today, this property lies mid-way between the Forest & Gardens and Alt Green Tower Apartment Houses.
