Home of William C. Cuntz

One of Kew Gardens' finest homes occupies the high ground at the corner of Onslow Place and Grenfell Street. In 1920, it was the residence of William Cuntz who was the first president of the Kew Gardens Civic Association. After moving in, the present owner found some old files that tell a little about the house. She writes:
"Construction of this house began in October 1912 for a Mr. John R. Corbin, who was the owner of record. It was designed by E.S. Child, architects, with an office at 29 Broadway, in New York City.  A 1913 inscription identifies it as being in Kew, Long Island."
