The Queens School

The Kew Forest School was not the only private School in Kew Gardens. The Queens School was established in 1944 as a parent teacher cooperative to provide education at the nursery and elementary school levels - reportedly the only one of its kind in the Borough of Queens. The School closed in the mid-1970's, but the building still stands at the northwest corner of 117th Street and 84th Avenue where it is now the Yeshiva Shaar Hatorah.
