Home of Saul B. Marantz

Saul B. Marantz was a pioneer in the development of high-fidelity sound systems. Working out of the basement of his Kew Gardens home on 81st Avenue at the corner of Austin Street, Marantz built a high-quality preamplifier using nothing but his car radio and parts from a Manhattan radio store. That brought him immediate recognition. Joined by audio engineer, Sidney Smith, Marantz went on to develop a series of vacuum-tube components that became yardsticks for the hi-fi industry, and gained worldwide acclaim in the process. If you use a Marantz tuner or receiver, you are using technology first developed by Saul Marantz.
