Using today's landmarks, I believe the view is looking west on Abingdon Road past Brevoort Street. The horse drawn carriage is on Brevoort Street facing north. The street running into the distance is Abingdon Road.

Three houses can be seen in the background.
  • The one on the far left apparently stands on the corner of Metropolitan Avenue and Lefferts Boulevard.

  • The middle house - seen from the rear - stands on the future site of Adath Yeshurun. The inset in the lower right corner shows that same house - also from the rear - cropped from a photograph taken about 5 - 10 years later. A frontal view of that house can be seen here on the left.

  • The equally tall house to the right faces Beverly Road. A view of that house from Lefferts Boulevard can be seen here on the right.
