  • In the left hand image, "Margie Gateson" is Broadway (and later soap opera) star, Marjorie Gateson.
  • In the right hand image, "Cauchois" refers to Frederick Cauchois. A 1922 - 23 Kew Gardens Directory lists him at 29 Abingdon Road, and has the word "coffee" after his name.
  • The "Bank of the Manhattan Co." is today's Chase bank of Lefferts Boulevard at five corners.  Here is an old newspaper advertisement for it.
  • "Kew Forest" refers to a section of today's Forest Hills that was developed by the Kew Gardens Corporation.
